How much does it cost?
The fixed price for boiler service is £70. Any extras like seals or chemicals are extra but this is usually less than £20.
What happens during a boiler service?
During a service, the amount of gas the appliance uses is checked, the composition of the exhaust gases are checked, the condition of all seals are checked and the condensation drain is inspected. It is cleaned and emptied if it needs attention.
Combustion performance of your boiler is measured and sometimes adjusted as well as a host of other tasks which varies slightly depending on whether you have an Ideal, Worcester, Glow-worm or any other boiler.
Your central heating system is checked (and topped up if necessary) to see the right chemicals are present and the magnetic filter is cleaned to remove the build up of harmful deposits.
A record of your service is made in your boilers service record. Often during a service, potential problems are spotted before they become more serious, saving money in the long run.
Servicing your boiler ensures it is working at its most efficient – saving money as you will probably use less gas after a service!
